With a desire to work on new and innovative products, as well as create noticeable impact, job-hopping among millennials has become more and more common. BMC Software employees are no different – the average BMC Software employee spends only 26 months at the company. Knowing this, here at Kandidate we’ve been asking: where do people go next after leaving BMC?
Where Do Sales & Marketing People Go After BMC?
46% of BMC employees choose to remain in the Computer Software industry – with Microsoft, Qualtrics and SAP as the most common employers. About 24% head to the Information Technology and Services industry, the most popular companies including Oracle and IBM. Another 12% chose to switch to the Internet industry.
The top 10 list of companies where BMC employees typically switch to is dominated by these three industries. Unsurprisingly, a large degree of company switching is done between rival companies.
With 82% of former BMC employees switching to the Computer Software, Information Technology and Services and Internet industries, it’s clear that the trend toward tech companies is extremely strong. However, Kandidate data unveils the importance of not pigeonholing BMC employees. A significant 18% of former BMC employees were found to be spread out amongst a number of differing industries ranging from Accounting to Oil and Energy, as well as companies as diverse as Deloitte and BP.
A new generation
Today’s millennials are different from the previous generations: knowing their market worth, they want the opportunity to work with products they are passionate about and where they believe they can make an impact. It is these factors which often determine where the modern employee – including those at BMC, move to next.
