Following SilverTree Private Equity’s January 2021 acquisition, Orbus needed swiftly to ramp up hiring in UK and US commercial roles in order to meet the investor’s own rapid growth targets. The company faced the challenge of reducing the time-to-hire burden on its managers whilst hiring talent and applying structure to the entire recruitment process. The aim was to create an optimal hiring experience for both Orbus and its candidates.
The Kandidate Solution
Orbus Software required an internal Talent Lead to set up these processes by taking a lead on hiring and guiding its hiring managers.
Kandidate initially partnered with Orbus for three months to build out their commercial team in the UK, supporting the newly acquired company’s growth in a competitive sector. Kandidate’s first step was to review all Orbus’s hiring processes in order to understand how to optimise these by implementing the Kandidate Method. The remit expanded to include hiring for roles in EMEA and the US.
Within 9 months, Kandidate directly sourced and hired for 25 critical roles in both the UK and US markets, including positions such as:
- VP of Sales NAM
- Global Head of People
- Head of Legal
- Finance Director
- HR Director
- Senior Sales Executives
- Pre-Sales Engineers
We also recommended and implemented the Recruitee Applicant Tracking System (ATS), which immediately improved candidate flow through vacancies and also provided hiring managers with increased visibility of progress in regard to the roles they covered.
Kandidate left Orbus with a Head of People and a Talent Acquisition Lead, so that the company could continue growing their attraction and retention quotas. Overall, Orbus was in a much better position upon our departure than it was when we arrived.
